Tekkonkinkreet is one of Matsumoto Taiyo's most seminal works. It chronicles two orphans and a city that never stops changing, and their relationship with their city and how that reflects human nature. Michael Arias' anime adaption is incredible, and Shinji Kimura's background work along with some great animation by the legendary Masaaki Yuasa make the film really shine.
